A Study of Local Universities' School-Running Strategy in View of the Development of the Idea of a University in China

The idea for running a school constitutes an important factor in achieving core competitiveness of a university.It mainly focuses on university's functions,production of talents,scientific research,and its service to society.At a time when higher education is developing quickly,it is very important for a university to establish its school-running idea,clarify its goal orientation,and show its characteristics and individuality in running the school.The kernel of the idea of a modern university in China is emphasis on its social responsibility,manifestation of academic nationality and culture quality,conformation to institutional norm,running a school by law,and attention paid to the features of industrial economy.Local universities should explore the strategies for running a school to create a campus culture which will help realize the idea of a modern university and fulfill its mission.
