Abstract

To analyze the features, general methods and the current situation of mapping, this paper illustrates the necessity, urgency and feasibility in mapping geological map effectively and conveniently. The article introduces briefly the concept of geological map, GIS and relationship between them, introduces and summarizes up the process and methods combined with the practice of mapping Jiangxi Youcheng 1∶50,000 geological map using MAPGIS.
