Abstract

The structure and properties of emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber(ESBR) and several solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubbers(SSBRs) were experimentally investigated.The results showed that the Mooney viscosities of raw ESBR and its compound were low,the tensile properties and abrasion resistance of ESBR vulcanizate were better,and the compression fatigue and dynamic properties were poorer than SSBR vulcanizates;the Mooney viscosities of raw SSBR YL950,SSBR2305,SSBR SL552 and their respective mix were also low,the tensile properties,abrasion resistance,compression fatigue and dynamic properties of SSBR YL950,SSBR2305 and SSBR SL552 vulcanizate were in the middle;the Mooney viscosity of raw star shaped SSBR was higher than that of star shaped SSBR compound,and the processability was good,the star shaped SSBR vulcanizate achieved good balance of physical properties,abrasion resistance and dynamic properties,so it was suitable for green tire tread compound.
