Abstract
Objective To obtain the detailed anatomical data of image for clinic through application of 3D-CISS sequence in displaying the cisternal segment of the oculomotor nerve and its adjacent relationships.Methods Seventeen patients with palsy of oculomotor nerve and 1 patient with tumor being to know whether the oculomotor nerve were eroded or not before operation underwent routine SE and 3D-CISS sequences,the adjacent neurovascular relationships of oculomotor nerve and the syntopy of the oculomotor nerve to its related pathological changes were observed from the different angles on multi-planar reconstruction(MPR)images.Results Seventeen patients with palsy of oculomotor nerve were all displayed well,among them 15 were pressed by the artery,1 by craniopharyngioma,1 by the tumor in the pontine cistern;the oculomotor nerves of another patient before the operation were not invaded by the tumor.Conclusion 3D-CISS sequence and MPR technique are the optimal imaging methods for the display of the syntopy of the oculomotor nerve to its related organization.
