Abstract

The combined process of SBR and biological infiltration was used to treat domestic sewage.The optimal operating parameters for treating domestic sewage were found by studying the process characteristics and the pollutant removal efficiency under different DO and wet/dry ratios.After a given time of culture,the activated sludge grows well and a lot of microorganisms are accumulated in the biological infiltration tank.The DO concentration has great influence on the effluent quality,and the removal efficiencies of COD,NH+4-N and TN are optimal with the removal rates of 97%,99% and 85% respectively when the DO is 2.5 mg/L,3.0 mg/L and 2.0 mg/L.Wet/dry ratio also has great influence on the removal of COD and NH+4-N,and little influence on the removal of TN,and the removal rates of COD,NH+4-N and TN are largest,being 95%,96% and 85% respectively when the wet/dry ratio is 1 ∶3.The combined process meets the requirements for advanced treatment of domestic sewage and provides a new approach for treatment of domestic sewage.
