Abstract
Comparison on soil basic characters of six sampling lands under three types of forest vegetation in Huangcangyu Nature Reserve in Anhui province shows that the indexes of soil bulk density, hardness, saturation moisture capacity, field capacity under Quercus variabilis forest are relatively great, while the index of soil clay particle compose and soil porosity under Pistacia chinensis forest are relatively great. The soil under the Quercus variabilis forest is partial to subacidity, while the soils under Pistacia chinensis and Dalbergia hupeana forest are partial to alkalescence. As for the soil nutrient, the hydrothermal condition is better and the soil organic matter and the content of N,P and K of the soil are comparatively high under the Quercus variabilis forest.
