Abstract
In sulfuric acid solution, organic carbon was oxidized by ove r- amounts potassium dichromate with silver sulfate as a catalyst. The extra potass ium dichromate was quantitatively reduced by ferrous sulfate standard solution. The standard deviation and relative error were 0.018 6( n =15) and 3.60%. Determination of organic carbon in soil standard materials, the relative error o f the mentioned method was less than 11.50%.
