The Analysis of "Garden Path Phenomena" in e.e.Cummings' Poetry

e.e.Cummings is an excellent representative of modern experimental school,whose poetry is original,particular,queer.Thus,he is called the magician of language.Garden path theory of psychological cognitive linguistics is beneficial to analyze the deviation characteristics of Cummings' own poetry.Grammatically,Cummings unconventionally uses grammars which surprises readers;as to writing,the poet lets readers enjoy a distinctive taste of poems;phonetically,Cummings brings a hearing feast.By applying garden path theory,this thesis develops new angles and methods to understand e.e.Cummings' poetry.
