Abstract
The principle and characteristics of DNA shuffling were reviewed in this paper.The application of DNA shuffling in the directed evolution of proteins,enzymes and cytokines,as well as metabolic engineering,was also briefly introduced.Since 1990s when DNA shuffling was invented,it has become a popular technique and has been widely used as a method of molecular directed evolution.
