Abstract

PTEN discovered in 1997 is a tumor suppressor gene with dual specificity phosphatase activity.PTEN gene brings into its lipid and protein phosphatase activity through PIP3/Akt,MAPK/ERK,FAK pathways.PTEN gene is closely related with breast cancers. This paper reviewed about the recent developments in the study of PTEN and its relation with breast cancer.
