Abstract
Using plantlets of Lilium tsingtauense as materials, the inducing effects of doubling chromosome of Lilium tsingtauense with colchicines were studied. The results indicated that the best effect was obtained by the treatment of immersing the shoot tips in colchicines solution at 0.05% for 24h,and its induction rate was 53.3%.Compared with the normal diploid plants, the colchine-induced polyploid plants had larger leaves, bigger roots, larger stomata and fewer stomata per unit area.Cytological observation confirmed them to be tetraploids with a chromosome number of 2n=4x=48.
