Abstract

Using polyethylene glycol PEG- 6000 to simulate drought stress method, five different sources flax seeds were used for germination test. PEG concentration was set six treatments with 5 %,10 %,15 %,20 %,25 %,30 %,and the distilled water as control, four indicators including seed germination stage germination potential, germination index, vigor index were measured. The results showed that the germination energy, germination rate, germination index, vigor index were decreased with increasing concentrations of PEG. 0,no significant difference was observed in germination and germination rate at 5 %,10 %,15% PEG concentration, compared to 0,5 %,10 %,15 %,there is significant difference at 20 %; Germination index between 15% and 20 % was highly significant difference, vigor index at the set concentrations was highly significant difference. Thus 20 %PEG was appropriate screening concentration as flax infancy, and germination rate and germination potential were used as a screening indicator.
