Abstract

[Objective] To evaluate the efficacy of Bifid Triple Viable Capsule in treatment of irritable bowel Bifico integrated (IBS). [Methods] According to Rome Ⅲ criteria of irritable bowel syndrome, 200 cases were divided into two groups: 100 cases were given trimebutine maleate 4 weeks and the other 100 cases were given trimebutine maleate combined with Bifid Triple Viable Capsule for 4 weeks. After the treatment, symptoms were evaluated. [Results] The symptoms of experimental group improved significantly after 4 weeks than the control group, of which abdominal pain or discomfort, bloating and bowel symptoms markedly improved. After treatment, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus in the experimental group were higher than before (P﹤0.05), but no significant change in the control group (P﹥0.05). In either diarrhea or constipation-IBS patients, Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus were more than those in the control group (P﹤0.05), while no significant difference of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus was found between the two types of patients. In the control group, the total effective rate was 67%. In the treatment group, the total effective rate was 93%, After treatment, the total effective rate increased significantly in both groups (P﹤0.05). [Conclusion] Bifico trimebutine maleate combined with trimebutine maleate has good clinical effect in the treatment of IBS, and can decrease adverse events than the single use of trimebutine maleate. It is worthy of promotion and application in clinical practice.
