Relationship between the Expression of Cyclin A, Cyclin E and the Cell Cycle in the Tissue of Gastric Carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of cyclin A, cyclin E and the cell cycle in the tissue of gastric carcinoma. Methods Cyclin A, cyclin E expressions were examined with immunohistochemical technique in 39 samples of gastric carcinoma tissue and the DNA contents was measured by flow cytometry. Results The expression rate of cyclin A in the tissue of gastric carcinoma was 71.8%, the cyclin E 48.7%. The SPF in cyclin E positive was significantly higher than that in cyclin E negative and there was no significantly difference between the SPFs in cyclin A positive and negative.but the expression of cyclin A in the tissue of gastric carcinoma was related with that of cyclin E. conclusion The expression rate of cyclin A waqs higher than that of cyclin E. The expressions of the two cyclins were related with each other. The SPF in cyclin E positive was significantly higher than that in cyclin E negative.
