Abstract

The growth performance of Alternanthera dentata under different shading treatments was studied in Guangzhou.The results indicated that (1)A.dentata was shade-tolerant and grew well under the shading conditions,and its density and height increased under one-layer shading treatment.(2)Shading treatment affected its leaf color.The number of red leaf increased along with the shading intensity and red leafs mainly at the top of plant.(3)The leaf number in one-layer shading treatment was higher than two-layer shading treatment.
