Abstract
By taking Poa pratensis variety excellen(t Merit)as the research object, the effects of shading on the growth of Poa pratensis was studied. The results showed that the shading had significant effects on the growth of branches and underground roots. The shading accelerated the high growth of branches, but the width of the leaf and specific leaf weight were decreased. The root growth was inhibited by the shading and the aboveground branches and roots were seriously inhibited under the heavy shading. The number of tillers per plants was decreased with the increase of shading, while the density of branches was the most under the light shading. And the light shading was beneficial to the survival rate of seedlings.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
