Abstract
Effects of benzbromarone(BXML) and Cu(Ⅱ) exist respectively or simultaneously on the fluorescence spectrum characteristics of bovine serum albumin(BSA)were studied. The results showed that both Cu(Ⅱ) and BXML could quench the fluorescence intensity of BSA via a nonradiative energy transfer mechanism. When Cu(Ⅱ) was present,BXML could quench the fluorescence of BSA more significantly. The binding constants(K) and the binding sites(n) were calculated by analyzing fluorescence quenching data with double-reciprocal equation. The K and n between BXML and BSA were 9.54×105L/mol and 1.03,those between Cu(Ⅱ) and BSA were 1.13×103 L/mol and 0.74 respectively.
