Abstract

Objective:To observe the anti-fatty-liver effect of Quganzhi mixture, which is a decoction of Chinese traditional herbal formulas. Methods:Male rats with fatty liver were induced by high-fat diet. The blank contrast group was fed normally. After 12 weeks, other rats were divided into the model group, the Quganzhi group with high dosage, the Quganzhi group with low dosage, and the diet control group. After 4 weeks, rats were killed and the blood samples were obtained from heart. The liver function, blood lipid, malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH) and total ani-oxidation capacity of blood were checked. The liver lipid levels of homogenous liver tissue were examined and the histological change of liver was analyzed. Results:Quganzhi mixture can reduce body weight of rats, decrease aminotransferase, liver lipid, lipid level of blood and MDA, increase albumin, activities of SOD, GSH and total antioxidant capacity. Conclusion:Quganzhi mixture can reduce fatty liver and liver damage.
