Abstract

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) belong to persistent organic pollutants(POPs),and have the main characteristics of environmental persistence, higher bio-accumulation,and higher biological toxicity.PBDEs distribute widely in marine environment and the concentrations are progressively increasing.Their toxicity on marine organisms and the possible effective pathway are the hot point of the present research. The resources, characteristics of PBDEs,their distribution in marine environment, and the potential threaten to marine organism are introduced in this paper. The possible effective mechanism is also discussed in the present study. And the research point and trend of PBDEs in marine environment are previewed.
