Abstract

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) are anthropogenic environmental contaminants. The structures and physical-chemical properties of PBDEs are similar to polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs). The temporal and spatial distribution of PBDEs in marine environment on a global scale was presented in this paper. The bioaccumulation, biomagnification, biotransformation behavior and ecotoxicity in marine environment werereviewed. In addition, directions for further researches onPBDEs were proposed.
