A NEW GENUS AND A NEW SPECIES OF THE IDIOCERIDAE (HOMOPTERA: CICADELLOIDEA)

This new genus and new species is collected from S玼th China. The type specimen is deposited in Annul Agricultural College.Flexocerus gen. nov.Head short, broader than pronotum, vertex broad, transverse, very short, parallel margined, and broadly rounded to front; ocelli on the face between eyes, just above the outside of the frontal sutures; male antennae without bearing characteristic discs near their apices; rostrum swelling at tip. Lateral margin of pronotum very short, posterior margin broadly concave, scutellum reletively large, median length as long as pronotum and vertex together; tegmina with four apical and three anteapical cells, appendix well developed.Aedeagus S-shaped with two pairs of apical processes; style blade-like; male plate narrowed.Type species: Flexocerus flexureus sp. nov.This genus is similar to Tasnimocerus Ghauri and Rhytidodus Fieber, it can be separated by the S-shaped aedeagus with two pairs of apical processes and blade-like style.Flexocerus flexureus sp. nov.Length: male 6.1 mm. female 6.4 mm.; including tegemen male 7.0 mm. female 7.5 mm.Vertex, pronotum and face brown, scutellum pale brown, tegemen brownish. Male plate very narrowed, two pairs of apical processes o'f aedeagus nearly closed together; style innex margin with lots of conical spinule.Holotype ♂ and allotype ♀, Guizhou, China; 19.
