Abstract

This paper describes a new genus and two new species of the Delphacidae col-lected from south China. All type specimens are deposited in the Anhui AgriculturalCollege. Crispina, gen. nov. Head slightly narrower than thorax.Vertex a little shorter submedially thanbroad at base, Y-shaped carina feeble;frons longer than broad (about 2:1), mediancarina forked at level of ocelli; elypeus at base wider than frons at apex;rostrumreaching slightly beyond mesotrochanters, with apical segment shorter than the su-bapical;antennae distinctly surpassing frontoclypeal suture, its basal segment longerthan broad (about 1.8:1), second segment longer than first (about 2:1).Pronotumin middle line a little shorter than broad at anterior margin between lateral carinae, lateral carinae not reaching hind margin.Post-tibial spur with about 20 teeth. Analsegment of male short, latero-apical angles each produced in a broad spinose process.Pygofer posterior opening as broad as long,medio-ventral process comprisingtwo separated small processes, diaphragm with dorsal margin weakly concave, shallowly incised medially.Aedeagus long, reflected cephalad at apex in a flagellum, which divided into two or three spinose processes at apex;a few spinose processesor teeth on distal half.Genital style curving laterad and S-shaped. Type-species: Crispina tortilla,sp.nov. The deeply forked frontal carina and the pattern of male genitalia serve to placethis genus in the Dicranotropis group. It is allied to Nycheuma Fennah,ThriambusFennah,Euidastor Fennah and Parathriambus Kuoh, but distinguished by the widthof the head, the shape of the vertex, the length of the antennae, the lateral carinaeof the pronotum, and especially by the structure of the aedeagus, which possesses afew spinose processes or teeth on its distal half. Crispina tortilla,sp.nov.(fig.1) Dark brown; vertex and frons on basal half yellow brown: legs yellowish brown.Tegmina subhyaline with the anterior margin hyaline. The genitalic characters aredistinctive. Male: length, 2.6 mm,tegmen, 3.5 mm. Holotype,Hainan Island, 19°32′N, 109°33′E,collected on 20. V. 1974, by PingZheng-ming. Crispina tortuosa,sp.nov.(fig.2) This species is very similar to the foregoing new species, especially in coloration, but separable by the pattern of the genital styles and by the structure of the aedeagus. Length: , 2.3 mm,,2.9-3.5 mm;tegmen:,3.25 mm, ,3.7-3.8 mm.Holotype, allotype and paratype 1, Yunnan, collected on 25. V. 1974, byMei You-tian and Wei Chong-sheng.
