Comparison of Three Kinds of Anesthesia Used in Pediatric Inguinal Surgery

Abstract

Objective To observe the combined inhalation of sevoflurane-based anesthesia with caudal block,caudal block compound and simple intravenous anesthesia in pediatric inguinal surgery. Methods From May 2008 to August 2009,90 ASA Ⅰ-Ⅱ grade children scheduled for selective surgery were divided into three groups,30 cases each group:sevoflurane inhalation compound caudal anesthesia group (Group Ⅰ); intravenous anesthesia combined with caudal block group (Group Ⅱ); intravenous anesthesia group ( Group Ⅲ). Results Heart rate (HR),mean arterial pressure (MAP),respiratory rate (RR) of Group Ⅰ children did not change significantly. In Groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ children with intraoperative and postoperative,HR and MAP increased compared with preoperative (P0.05),RR was significantly lower than preoperative. In Group Ⅲ with the recovery time was prolonged,complications in awake in Groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were less than in Group Ⅲ,in which postoperative irritability and crying were more common. Conclusion Sevoflurane inhalation compound caudal anesthesia used in pediatric inguinal surgery,is accessible,while the function of respiratory and circulatory systems are stable,with awake up fast,clear and high quality,and with fewer adverse reactions in recovery period. This anesthesia methos is worthy of promotion in clinical anesthesia.
