Abstract

： Revenge is one of the subjects occuring repeatedly in The Historical Records, which includes lots of tragic but heroic and moving revenge stories. Sima Qian, the author, has a strong revenge complex shown in The Historical Rec ords for many reasons like Liling Event, Confucious thought, the influence of sc holars in Warring States period, personal psychology and charater, etc.
