Abstract
Objective To detect the changes of p-ERK, ERK, p-p38 and p38 in the hippocampus of genetic epileptic rats(Tremor, TRM). Methods TRM rats were identified by PCR. Wistar rats and TRM rats were divided into control and model groups respectively. The expressions of p-ERK, ERK, p-p38 and p38 proteins were detected by Western blot. Results The expression levels of p-ERK, p-ERK/ERK, p-p38 and p-p38/p38 proteins in hippocampus were increased in TRM rats than in control group, but with no difference for ERK and p38 between control and model groups. Conclusion The overexpression of p-ERK and p-p38 proteins in the hippocampus of Tremor rats indicates that these signal pathways might be involved in the pathogenesis of epilepsy.
