Abstract
Objective:To investigate the recent clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of thalidomide in combination with VAD regimen in the treatment of multiple myeloma(MM).Methods: Thirty-seven patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma were randomly divided into study group or control group.17 patients in control group were treated with VAD regimen(vincristine, doxorubicin and dexamethasone).20 patients of study group were treated with thalidomide in combination with VAD regimen. Results: After three treatment courses, the efficient rate was 80% in study group and was 47.1% in control group. There was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusions: The recent clinical efficacy of thalidomide in combination with VAD regimen is obviously superior to VAD regimen alone. This therapy has mild adverse reactions and is easy to tolerate.
