An analysis on incidence of malignant tumor in 2008-2011 in Wenjiang district,Chengdu City

Objective To understand the distribution and its trends of malignant tumor in Wenjiang district,Chengdu city in 2008-2011,and to provide evidence for local cancer control and prevention.Methods The data collected from Wenjiang district cancer registry and the incidence of cancer were calculated and analyzed.Results The crude incidence rate was 129.79/100 000 in 2008-2011. The incidence rate of cancer was 161.30/100 000 in male and 85.56/100 000 in female. The incidence rate raised up from the age of 40. The common cancers ranked top 5 in male were lung cancer,esophagus cancer,stomach cancer,liver cancer and colon cancer. The common cancers ranked top 5 in female were lung cancer,breast cancer,colon cancer, liver cancer and stomach cancer. Conclusion The malignant tumor incidence rate in Wenjiang district was lower than that at the national level, in which the men and older people are high risk population. Lung cancer and cancer of digestive tract such as esophageal cancer, liver cancer and gastric cancer are at higher incidence rate and should be the focus of control.
