Abstract
Objective:To investigate the role of ETS-1 gene in the pathogenesis and development of tongue carcinoma. Methods:Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the ETS-1 protein expression in 57 specimens of tongue carcinoma tissue and 10 specimens of normal tongue tissue(controls). Results:The protein level of ETS-1 gene expression in the tissue of tongue carcinoma was significantly higher than that of the controls(P0.05).The increased expression of ETS-1 was observed in highly malignant cases as compared with that in lower degree of malignancy(P0.05).Conclusion:ETS-1 gene may be involved in the pathogenesis and development of the tongue carcinoma, also,it may be responsible for the degree of malignancy.
