Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and insulin sensitivity and insulin secretion function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and patients with type 2 diabetes and metablolic syndrome(MS). Methods 280 patients with T2DM were divided to two groups,156 with MS and 124 without MS. 40 healthy persons were in normal control group. Serum levels of hs-CRP,lipid,HbA1C,limosis blood sugar and insulin level, body mass index and blood pressure were compared among the groups and their correlation were analysed. HOMA-IR and HOMA-IS was calculated. Results The serum level of hs-CRP and HOMA-IR were significantly higher in T2DM with MS group than without MS group and normal control group (P 0.01). The correlation anlalysis showed that the level of hs-CRP was positively correlated with body mass index, systolic blood pressure, dialasitic blood pressure,LDL-C,HOMA-IR(P 0.05 or P 0.01). Conclusion hs-CRP is closely related with insulin resistance and metablolic syndrome in T2DM and MS.
