Abstract

There are 4 000hm2 acres of Pinus elliottii in Anfu County, most of which have reached the period of rosin tapping in succession. The yields of rosin and turpentine oil are estimated about 10,000t and 2,000t respectively. The turpentine oil produced by Anfu forest chemistry Co., Ltd. from the gum of Pinus elliottii is analyzed by GC. The results show the contents of α-pinene and βpinene are 61.90 percent and 30.95 percent respectively, so the β-pinene content is high. Discussion on the results is made.
