Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the two different ways in diagnosis of the abnormal eyesight of children from 2 years to 6 with Hand-held instrument automatically optometry Suresight made by America Welchallyn Co.,and observe the veracity, feasibility and creditability of the two ways.METHODS 228 children years between 2 and 6 were screened with Hand-held instrument automatically optometry Suresight, compared the screening results with two different diagnosing ways.RESULTS 58 eyes were diagnosed with abnormal diopter,21 eyes were hypermetropia, and 2 eyes were myopia.Among 456 eyes,58 eyes had retested,7 were hypermetropia, and 10 were myopia. There were marked difference between the detection rates of hypermetropia and myopia(P﹤0.025).CONCLUSION The first method checked-up hypermetropia was better than that of the second method, but less myopia.Hand-held instrument automatically optometry named Suresight should be more explored in using screening children's eyesight.
