Relationship between caroyid artery atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate relationship between carotid artery atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Method:One hundred and fourteen cases devided into normals and 1,2,3-vessel groups by coronary angiography of strictural blood vessel number were examind with carotid ultrasonography. Result:The more serious the coronary heart disease was the thicker maximum intima-media thickness and higher incidence rate of plaque in carotid artery was. Conclusion: There is close relationship between carotid artery atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease and carotid artery ultrasonography may predict the extent of coronary heart disease.
