Treatment of amputation for diabetic foot

Objective To explore the treatment method of amputation for diabetic foot.Methods Thirty-four cases diabetic foot patients in advanced stage were treated with amputation,24 cases in shank,10 cases in foot.Control hyperglycemia,improving embolism,improving local blood and relieving pain after operation.Results All patients were obtained follow-up for 3-16 months with a mean of 8 months,the results showed that 28 patients got the restore,the total effective rate was 82%.Conclusion Though it has no alternative but to take amputation for diabetic foot,amputation can effectively improve survival rate and quality.
