On the Interaction between Wudang Martial Arts and Taoist Divine Tortoise

Abstract

The investigation and comparison of many documentary materials on Wudang martial arts lead to the finding: a lot of methods and stratagems of Wudang martial arts are named after Wudang Taoist divine tortoise,which reflects the Taoist cultural connotation of Wudang martial arts.This paper is to discuss the influence of Wudang Taoist divine tortoise on the internal work and attack and defense of Wudang martial arts,and the respect of Wudang martial arts for Wudang Taoist divine tortoise.
