Abstract
Pilot injection technology is one of the main approaches to be used to meet and exceed the European III emission criteria for diesel engines, which reduces noise and NO_x emissions. An interrupt loop was used for the injection control algorithm for the electronic unit pump.Tests of the control algorithm matched the algorithm with measurements of the cylinder pressure and injection pressure in a DDC2000 diesel engine. The results indicate that pilot injection can be implemented on an electronic unit pump injection system with a proper control algorithm and actuator driver. The algorithm is independent of hardware platform and can be used to control fuel injection of electronic unit pump diesel engines and rail diesel engines.
