Education and Development of Subjectivity: an Outline of Education for New Subjectivity

Modern education is, in the final analysis, based on dualistic subject philosophy and technical rationality. It is inevitable that modern education results in three-fold alienation between human beings and nature, individuals and society, individuals and themselves. In order to step out of anthropocentrism and technical rationality, it is necessary to reconstruct subjective value of human beings based on a holistic-organic view, to understand as unity of nature, sociality, and autonomy of individuals, and then to establish the principle of new subjectivity. The education that aims at the formation of new subjects and observes ' the principle of new subjectivity is called education for new subjects, which is an attempt to construct the era spirit in education.
