Influence of Shenqi Tang on life quality in patients with heart failure of qi deficiency and blood stasis type

Abstract

Objective To observe the influence of Shenqi Tang on life quality in patients with chronic congestive heart failure(CHF) of qi deficiency and blood stasis type.Methods All 68 patients were randomly divided into control group(n =32) treated with routine therapy according to Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Heart Disease,and treatment group(n =36) treated with the same therapy as control group and additional Shenqi Tang.Results The total effective rate in improving heart function was 83.3% in treatment group and 84.4% in control group(P 0.05).After the treatment,6-minute walk distance test and scores of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire were all improved in two groups(P 0.05).The total effective rate in relieving the symptoms of qi deficiency and blood stasis was 86.1% in treatment group and 53.1% in control group(P 0.05).Conclusion Shenqi Tang can effectively improve the life quality in the patients with chronic CHF.
