Abstract
Objective To study the vitrectomy for treatment of pseudophakic retinal detachment.MethodsThe vitrectomy was performed in 50 cases for pseudophakic retinal detachment with a standardized procedure. The vitreous cavity was tamponaded with silicone oil in 16 eyes and C-3F-8 in other 34 eyes. The postoperative follow-up time was 6~24 months. Results The total retinal reattachment was in 49 eyes(98%) New retinal breaks were identifed in 15 eyes intraoperatively. All eyes visual acuity was improved after operation. Conclusions The main advantage of vitrectomy for pseudophakic retinal detachment is better intraoperative sight to find the occult retinal breaks in peripheral fundus,to improve the rate of retinal reattachment,to decrease the rate of retnal redetachment and to improve the visual function after vitrectomy. The vitrectomy is a safe, effective clinical treatment for pseudophakic retnal detachment.
