Abstract

VRML and its applications to molecular models on the WWW are described. A software which can convert molecular MOL2 or ML2 format file to VRML format files in four different styles, including wireframe, capped sticks, ball and stick, and a CPK space filling model, has been developed. The utility of the software is illustrated by an example which converts molecular ML2 format file to VRML format files. It is shown that the usage of VRML is a very efficient and powerful method for the transport of molecular models on the WWW.
