The Study of Tang Poetry in Korea since 1950: Historical Vagaries

The history of poetry its China gains comprehensibility if one adopts a somewhat broader definition of verse than has been usual among historians of Chinese literature. In Korea, since the 1970s there has been departments for Sinology in more than 100 universities, and now about more than 600 scholars are studying and teaching it. Especially, the study of Tang poetry is a very important category. The authors work for collecting bibliographies of Tang Poetry in Korea is also of significance. This paper is thought to be able to motivate more studies on the Chinese - Korean literal relations.
