Five Characteristics of Japanese Scholars' Study on Chinese Classical Poetry since the 20th Century

Since the 20th century,Japanese scholars' study on Chinese classical poetry presents five characteristics:1) More attention to the south than to the north;2) specialized and refined in study orientation;3) textual research in content;4) time span covering three phases;and 5) focusing on textual examination and analysis in method.The contents,methods and characteristics of Japanese scholars' study on Chinese classical poetry have an important significomce of reference on our study of Chinese classical poetry.
