Abstract
From the perspective of spatial economics and the new economic geography analysis framework,by constructing spatial panel model for urbanization, transportation infrastructure and manufacturing agglomeration, this essay conducts an empirical analysis to the spatial effect on the manufacturing industry agglomeration by China's provincial urbanization and transportation infrastructure during 2000- 2011 with spatial econometric method, and explores the nonlinear relationship between them. It is concluded that Urbanization and transportation infrastructure play a significant role on manufacturing agglomeration in spatial effect; Urbanization and manufacturing agglomeration present N- type relation, and the crowding role shows earlier than promoting role of urbanization on manufacturing industry agglomeration; Transportation infrastructure and manufacturing agglomeration present N- type relation; Banking concentration, foreign openness and information have significant effects on manufacturing agglomeration, and the role of new economic geography factors on manufacturing industry agglomeration cannot be ignored; China's manufacturing industry agglomeration has significant spatial dependence and spatial spillover effect.
