Abstract

Objective:To investigate the antihypertensive efficacy of angiotensin Ⅱ receptor antagonist Losartan potassium by ABPM.Method:42 patients with mildmoderate essential hypertension were treated with Losartan for 4~8 weeks.Blood pressure were observed by casual blood pressure (CBP) and 24 hours ambulatory blood pressure morniting (ABPM).Result:At 8 weeks reduction of both systolic and diastolic pressure were significant (P 0.01 ).The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure trough:peak ratios were 70% and 52% respectively. No severe side effects were found. Conclusion:Losartan potassium 50 mg once a day can signiticantly control 24 hour blood pressure. It is effective, safe and less side effects.
