Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency current ablation for Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia(PSVT).Methods Radiofrequency current ablation(RFCA) was performed in 210 patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.The accessory pathway(AP)ablation was performed in the earliest ventricular action(EVA)or the earliest atrial action(EAA).For the double pathway(DP),the slow pathway(SP)ablation was performed.Results All patients were treated by radiofrequency current ablation with a total success rate of 97.1%.Among 119 patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia caused by atrioventricular accessory pathways,atrioventricular accessory pathways were successfully ablated with a success rate of 95.0%.In 91 patients with atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia,the slow pathways were successfully abolished with a success rate of 100%.Complications occurred in 4 patients(1.9%).During follow-up,PSVT recurred in 3 patients(1.4%)and was permanently eliminated by reapplication of RFCA.Conclusion RFCA is a highly valuable non-drug therapy for PSVT with a high success rate,few complications,and low recurrence.
