The Buddhism Culture's Influence on Su Shi 's View of Love

Abstract

Su Shi was a brilliant man of wide learning. He was affected by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. This paper made a research of Su Shi's love view from Buddhism. Su Shi's love view included two elements: one is sentimental, the others is heartless. He looked like heartless because of the effect of Buddhism which believes that love is a thief and empty. Therefore, love must be forbidden. It is poet's nature and Buddhism's learning that made Su Shi to experience love deeply and profoundly.
