Abstract

AIM:To discuss expression and functions of calcitonin gene-related peptide and nerve growth factor in the injuried teeth. METHODS:Changes of CGRP and NGF were observed in injuried dental pulp, compared with those in normal dental pulp by immunohistochemical method. RESULTS:In the normal group, CGRP expression was obvious, NGF expression was not observed. In the Oh group the CGRP and NGF expression was very low. In the 3d group NGF expression increased greatly. In the 5d group CGRP expression was the most, but NGF was decreased. In the 9d group both of them were as same as those in the normal group. CONCLUSION:CGRP and NGF may take part in the reaction and nerve restoration after teeth injury.
