A New Exploration on the Location of Ancient Luntai City in the Tang Dynasty

Abstract

Scholars incline to agree that ancient Luntai City in the Tang Dynasty is located in Wulabo Old City in the southern suburb of Urumqi.Historical data shows that there were transfers of ancient Luntai City.In the years from 640 BC to 771 BC,ancient Luntai City should be located at Gumudi Old City,whose ruins is now in Miquan county.After 771 BC,it was transferred to Wulabo Old City.Therefore it is concluded that there were many ancient Luntai Cities in history.
