Empirical Analysis of Contribution of Human Capital to Economic Growth

Based on the regression analysis of the model of effective labor input and the model of human capital externality,this article computed human capital′s prodution elasticity and the direct and indirect contribution rate to economic growth of Henan during the year of 1978～2003.The results show that the level of human capital′s production elasticity is more than human capital′s during the economic development in Henan province.And the indirect contribution rate to economic growth of Henan is lower.So it is necessary to increase the investment on education.And then the human capital will play more effcet on the process of technical progress and innovation.The capital and human capital productivity is also increased.
