?Qi ” ( vigor ) is the kernel of the Chinese culture. As Qi of a piece of writing, it can be divided into three : The Qi of the author, the Qi of the creation , and the Qi of the text. Thus can be deduced the three components of the theory on “vigor of style” : the theory on “cultivating Qi” concerning the author; the theory on “ directing Qi” concerning creation, and the theory on Qi of spirit concerning the text.The theory on“the vigor of style” is so important to the author - creatition - text that it has become the core of the theories on Chinese writings.
