Abstract
Through ages,Cultivating Qinot only is a kind of means to improve heath, but also refers to the connection with life source in terms of philosophy. During the pre-Qin period Lao Zhuang's theory put forward the embryonic form of the ancient theory ofCultivating Qi. During the period of two Hans, Huan Tan and Wang Chong, etc. further established the theory ofCultivating Qifurther established the theory ofCultivating Qiin the field of the theory of consciousness of natural life. In the Han Dynasty Liu Xiu thought the essence of cultivating Qi meantclearly adjusting one's heart and smoothening the anger. It was the representative theory of the system in Ancient China and exerted a great influence on later ages. Ancient thinkers' exploration of the theory has had very important function in forming and developing the theory ofCultivating Qi.
